everydaySATISFACTION

“…Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

– John 4:13-14 (NKJV)

We are pursuing something in life, save or unsaved. Some of us go everyday searching for something we never find. What are you looking to for satisfaction in your life? If it’s not Jesus satisfying you, what is? People look for fulfillment through many things—drugs, alcohol, relationships, sex, food, money—anything.

Let’s be real… This world will only over-promise and under-deliver, where Jesus over-delivers even with the smallest promises. It’s time for us to wake up and not settle for the cheap, temporary things of this world. As long as we are searching for satisfaction and contentment in the world, we will never meet expectation, and fail. Even if something sounds or feels good, it’s not long before it will fade and you’ll wake up from it and realize you are still empty. The things of this world are temporary, but Jesus is everlasting. He’s who you have searched for all along…without knowing it. He wants to fill you beyond your natural desires. You can rely on Him to satisfy you in a way the world never can.

“…He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy] …”

– Ecclesiastes 3:11 (AMP)

We all have a God-shaped hole in our hearts. If we try to fit something in our hearts besides God, we will always be looking, because nothing else fits. The reason we long for more and can never seem to be content is because we have eternity implanted in our hearts, and bigger, better things are in our DNA. Hello! We are made in His image! It’s like we were put in a copy machine and came out just like God (Genesis 1:27). We were created for a relationship with God, and whether or not you believe, satisfaction is found only through one person: Jesus.

He is everlasting, eternal, constant, unending, and always fills over. When all else fails He remains. He is the Way, the Truth, the Life (John 14:6).

When we have Jesus we receive His eternally, thirst quenching, soul-satisfying gift of water. When you decide to follow Jesus you will never want to turn back. Once you have a taste of His sweet presence and unconditional love nothing else will ever compare.
If you’re thirsty let Him fill you with His everlasting life. Let me put it like this: we were made for more, therefore we have to have the more to be satisfied—Jesus!

everydayMISSION:

I encourage you to look to Jesus to find your satisfaction. Get the Word in your heart and speak it over your life. I charge you to look in the scriptures and find out who you are in Christ. A life lived with everyday Jesus is the most satisfying life you could ever live. I know by experience! When temptations and trials come your way, look to the Word to build up your faith and the joy of The Lord to strengthen you. Think on Him and keep eyes focused on what is before you in Christ.

everydayCONVERSATION:

“Thank you, Lord, that you satisfy me in every way. I thank you for filling me with everlasting life. I trust in, lean on, and am confident in you. Nothing in this world will move me. I have decided to follow you all the days of my life. Everything I need is in you. Your presence shall be my dwelling place. I will never be the same because you have restored my life. Thank you, that I never lack, and I am never in want because you supply my every need. I declare this by faith in Jesus’ name.”
